"George Malkmus was absolutely right when he wrote in 1996, "Competitors call maltodextrin a filler... But beware of any green juice powder on the market today if it does not contain Maltodextrin as it will oxidize and not give the same results."
Ref. Back to the Garden, Winter/Spring, 1996 Pg 17.
MALTODEXTRIN
Maltodextrin is a completely natural complex carbohydrate used to preserve the nutritional integrity of the barley juice after it has been extracted from the grass fiber.
Without Maltodextrin, oxidization would soon begin, resulting in gradual loss of enzymes, some vitamins and the plant's life-blood, chlorophyll. All natural juice powders require a stabilizer to maintain the juices nutritional content. Maltodextrin has proven to be an excellent, safe stabilizer, contributing to easy absorption of .............. while providing a three to five year shelf life.
This is especially good news for those who understand the term "live food" as this protection only breaks down when you place the powder in a liquid or if you leave it exposed to direct sunlight. This is one more reason why ........... is truly as close to fresh cut grass as you can get."
